An automotive supply company was seeking a method that would ensure all roof liners manufactured passed inspection before being distributed to their customer.
As a solution to their request, MartinCSI installed a vision system, programmed with Pro-face HMI/PLC, Pro-Server and a SQL database. The Pro-face HMI/PLC system provided system control and created a way for operators to input setup information. The Pro-Server acted as a transaction manager carrying information from the PLC to the sequential database. The SQL database tracked and stored inspection information and the vision system inspected each roof liner providing feedback to the operator regarding whether all the points of interest tested passed or failed.
As a result, this procedure helped the supplier eliminate defective products leaving the facility, diminishing any costs to recall a product.
