In the Community

We take pride in supporting the communities where we live and work.  Over the years, our support has been extended to a variety of organizations.

  • Ohio 4H
  • Hilliard Education Foundation
  • Susan G. Komen For The Cure
  • Hilliard City School District - Hollyfest Scholarship Auction

Our employees represent the true spirit of our company culture and we value their input. We regularly make donations to charities that our employees are passionate about -- from a fundraising golf tournament to benefit cancer research to sending giftcards to the familes of a partner company devastated by the tornadoes in Alabama in 2011.

KIVA

Being a small business, we know the struggles of starting a business from the ground up and making it a success. In our effort to give back, we participate in micro-lending to small business owners/entrepreneurs who do not have access to traditional loans through a bank. We do this through Kiva. We love reading their latest updates and hearing about the success of their businesses.

We encourage you to read about two entreprenuers that we have recently loaned money to: Angela and Ana.

Angela Gardenia Ramos Rizzo | From Ecuador | Started a beauty salon
(Text taken from www.Kiva.org): Angela, 50, has a small beauty salon.  In her youth, she worked as an assistant in a hair salon.  Little by little she saved money so that she could have her own place of business.

Now she starts work each morning in her own beauty salon.  She has gradually managed to buy all of the tools and equipment that she needs to work effectively with her customers.  She works from 10am until 10pm every day.  She does haircuts, dyes, hair straightening, makeup, etc.

She has a lot of aspirations for her business, and for this reason she wants a loan so that she can buy cosmetics to sell in her salon.  In the future, she wants to expand her salon.

Ana Luisa | From Ecuador | Expanding production for rice and corn farming
(Text taken from www.Kiva.org): Ana Luisa is 19 years old, single and lives with her mother.  She doesn't have any children and lives in the precinct of  Agua Clara in the Chillanes canton.
Ana works in agriculture.  She grows rice and corn on her parent's land.  She makes her purchases in Chillanes and San Pablo and sells at the Sunday markets in Chillanes.

This loan will help her purchase agricultural supplies and thereby help to increase her production.  She has faced challenges such as illness among the workers, insects and crop diseases.  Her dream is to buy her own land, to continue working in agriculture and to have a family.

In her free time she likes to go out with her friends to talk.
